Charles Jolivette is a writer, cultural historian, and independent author whose work documents hip-hop history, community storytelling, and Louisiana Creole cultural traditions. Raised in San Francisco’s Bayview–Hunters Point, he spent over 15 years in the Bay Area music industry, building relationships throughout Northern California. He currently serves as president of Andrew Foster Legacy Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the history of independent Black businesses and cultural spaces.
